Come celebrate seven years of scares at Carnival of Darkness!
Carnival of Darkness: The Haunted Pamlico Film Festival runs from 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the historic Turnage Theater, 150 W. Main St., Washington.
Once again this year, Carnival of Darkness takes place alongside the Smoke on the Water barbecue festival in downtown Washington.
Tickets will be available Aug. 25 through the Turnage Theater/Arts of the Pamlico. Tickets cost $10 per person each day or $20 per person for a two-day pass to all of our festival events. You'll find tickets online at artsofthepamlico.org or in person at the theater.
Scheduled events within Carnival of Darkness include red-carpet film premieres; the scary experience of walking through the reputedly haunted Turnage, while our actors menace you; screenings of sci-fi, horror, and suspense films from around the world; a horror-film panel with North Carolina filmmakers; an eerie exhibit of visual art in the Turnage gallery; a special Haunted History Tour highlighting ghost stories of downtown Washington and elsewhere; "Horror Show V," a variety show with live music, dancing, and haunt-season antics presented by Haunted Pamlico performers and featuring the bands the Honey Jacks and Carolina Still, and the Post Mortem Players of Charlotte; craft and food vendors at the Smoke on the Water venue; Creepy Karaoke in the gallery of the Turnage; children's activities led by Arts of the Pamlico; costumed characters wandering the theater and throughout downtown Washington; and more happenings to be announced.
Our partners and supporters include the Turnage Theater, Alternative Stage, Rock the Pamlico, Smoke on the Water, Arts of the Pamlico, and other organizations.
