About the Capital Region Ques
Lambda Gamma Gamma chapter (“LGG”) was founded in 1984 and established in 1985 as a military-based chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., on Fort Meade, Maryland. As the chapter grew and its membership incorporated brothers surrounding military bases from northern Maryland, throughout the DC metropolitan area, and northern Virginia, in 1998, the chapter adopted the nickname “The Capital Region Ques.” The chapter also began ensuring that it met the needs of families and brothers across the entire DMV area.
About our Scholarship and Service Efforts
At the onset, the chapter took on “Aid to an indigent family” as its first philanthropic endeavor. With the assistance of Fort Meade’s Army Community Services Program, a family was identified and we provided anonymous food goods to needy families for a period of 6 months.
Since then, we have grown to have a multitude of service and philanthropic programs. Part of our ability to meet the needs of so many children and families each year are the charitable efforts and donations of brothers and community organizations. These efforts help us feed and clothe many individuals and families throughout Thanksgiving, Christmas and other times during the year.
We also provide scholarships to many gifted and deserving students that seek to attend a multitude of universities across the nation. The All-White fundraiser is one of our programs targeted to assist in these efforts.
