Formed in the first wave of British post-rock alongside the likes of Mogwai in the late 90s, John Peel favourites Billy Mahonie are set to return with the first new music from their original line-up in some twenty-four years. Whilst their debut album ‘The Big Dig’, released in 1999 on Too Pure Records, is considered a classic of the post rock genre, Billy Mahonie always crafted their intricate music with memorable hooks and melodies and performed it with energy and gusto. Theirs was not an aimless, meandering sound, instead the songs and attitude were rooted in punk rock, and still are. Billy Mahonie put the rock into post-rock.
‘Field Of Heads’ released May 24th via Whistling Sam Projects, sees the band returning with their classic original line-up of Gavin Baker (guitar), Howard Monk (drums), Hywell Dinsdale (bass and guitar) and Kevin Penney (bass and guitar).

a.P.A.t.T.
a.P.A.t.T. are an English ensemble generally known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works. Since their first release, (e.P.) in 2002 a.P.A.t.T. have released over 7 albums, numerous singles, endless music videos and short films, received commissions from a Smörgåsbord of leading arts organisations, made a full feature film and even starred and composed for a BBC TV Sitcom.
a.P.A.t.T. and its nomenclature began with a master tape of ‘anyone in the room’ recordings made at the dawn of the Mini-Disc 4 track era around 1998/99..the music was collage in a way and potentially influenced the non-linear ‘genre-less’ approach and sidestepped into the somewhat anti-hierarchical line-up of the act.
Having undertaken several major EU tours and supported all the legends (Sun-Ra, Secret Chiefs,
Sax Ruins, Daniel Johnston). a.P.A.t.T. have gone on to release music though Pickled Egg,
aNGRr!, Cargo, Dur et Doux and Upset the Rhythm.
"a.P.A.t.T. are a motherfucking experience. Probably the only UK band i can think of to come up with their vision of the dark, vicious and fuck me, rather scary vision of the ACID PUNK dropped
onto us from the visions of Gibby from the Butthole Surfers. We love them. You need to hear this. It's insane" -Alan Mcgee - Creation/Poptones
