This is a civilian course, designed for anyone who wishes to be familiar with the different types of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) products on the market for security, personal, or home protection. From foggers, foams, streams, gels, powders, and projectile launchers; not all are equal and a good solution for every situation.
Non-lethal tools such as pepper spray are a great way to bridge the gap between able to do nothing and using deadly force in self-defense. However, having the tool without adequate knowledge or training could serve to give yourself a false sense of security.
This course will fully cover the available types of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) and considerations for their safe, legal, and responsible use in a self-defense situation.
Nothing familarizes you more than executing what you have learned, so the class concludes with each student deploying pepper spray (inert) and live fire of pepper balls (inert powder).
In this course, your instructor will guide you through the following:
- Situational Awareness & Identifying Threats
- Legal Considerations
- Types and proper deployment techniques
- Safety & Decontamination Procedures
- Live Deployment of Inert Pepper Spray
- Live Firing of Inert Pepper Balls Using Launcher
Students shall receive a 2-year certification upon completion. No student shall be required to feel the effects of pepper spray to receive their certification. Course cost includes the use of inert pepper spray, CO2 cartridge, and inert pepper balls.
