Farley Center Beekeeper Experience

Have you been interested in honeybees and beekeeping but not ready to be a beekeeper year round?

Join the Farley Center Beekeepers seeing honeybees up close and be a beekeeper for an afternoon!

We will talk about honeybees, beekeeping, honey, and point out all of the developmental stages of the honeybee as we inspect the Farley Center hives together. You’ll leave with a pound of Farley Center honey!

Wear close-toed shoes and long pants, we will outfit you with the rest of the protective gear to allow you to get up close and personal with the bees. As with any beekeeping, there is a risk of being stung so if you have a severe allergy you should not participate.

When: Sunday, June 22, 2025 3-5 PM (or whenever we finish) weather permitting.
Where: The Linda and Gene Farley Center for Peace, Justice and Sustainability
2299 Spring Rose Rd, Verona
Cost: $70 for one adult, $100 for one adult and one child. This cost is a donation to the Farley Center (the beekeepers are volunteers)
