Join Kathy on Saturday, Aug. 23rd from 10:00 until 1:00 to unleash your creativity in this hands-on stained glass class, where you’ll craft a Bee Sun Catcher using traditional techniques! In this class, you will cut and shape glass pieces to design a unique project, using vibrant shades handpicked by you. You’ll learn to grind the edges of your glass to smooth perfection and apply copper foil to prepare your project for soldering.
Your project will come together when Kathy takes your project home to finish with solder, ensuring a professional, durable finish.

No prior experience needed! Whether you’re a first-timer or looking to sharpen your stained glass skills, this class will provide you with the tools and techniques to make something truly beautiful.
Your project will be finished approximately 1 week after class. You will receive a phone call or text when it's ready for pick-up.
Kathy has been visiting North Carolina since 1998 and has taken art classes at ARTworks Vass with each visit. Her first experience was a Paverpol sculpture class followed by a stained-glass class—an experience that sparked her love for glass art. Since then, Kathy has dedicated herself to learning stained glass techniques. Now retired and living in North Carolina full time, she plans to continue pursuing her passion for stained glass and sharing her skills with others.
Important Information:
Beginners are welcome.
Children age 14 and older may attend class independently.
Registration allows for one Guest per class project.
Only Registered Guests may attend class.
Registrations are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
Class starts promptly as scheduled.
Dress to mess or bring an apron.
You will be notified when your project is ready to pick up. We will hold it for 90 days with monthly notifications by text or phone. If you haven't requested an extension or picked up your work within 90 days, your project will be disposed of at the gallery's discretion.
At ARTworks Vass, you're always welcome to bring your own Nibbles and Sips to class.
