Hey Boys,
It is that time of the year again where we have our annual Brian Wright Classic Tournament - Boys Alumni Tournament.
Why is this tournament called the Brian Wright Classic (For those young ones that do not know him)?
Answer: Brian Wright is a retired teacher/coach from Van Tech. During his time at Tech, he has coached many teams to Provincial Championships, won Lower Mainlands and cities. You could say he is root of volleyball at Van Tech. Therefore, we honour him and have named this tournament after him. I plan on calling/emailing him and hopefully he will be able to come by and say hi to everyone. So if you see him, please shake his hand and make sure you acknowledge the dedication and influence he has had for boys volleyball at Tech.
This tournament is also a fundraiser to the boys program at Van Tech. In the past, we have bought balls, help with tournament cost and etc... Therefore, during the night, I will be walking around with a bin for donations.
We are hoping that we get a good turn out this year, so please invite members to this group who have played volleyball in their senior years at Van Tech.
Eligible players are Grad 2025 players and before....
Where: Van Tech Large Gym
Time: 5:15pm to 9
Date: Friday June 20, 2025
Teams....Grad years or close to your year...
There is a fancy trophy, so the winning team will have their names engraved on it. So please advertise this tournament to your grad class!
