This event is hosted by Prince William Sound College Outdoor Leadership Program and is a community based event open to locals and visitors alike.
PWSC has an amazing facility, new equipment, access to world class teaching and paddling venues, and an amazing staff!
Join Certified ACA Coastal Kayaking Instructors, Instructor Trainers, and Instructor Trainer Educators working alongside PWSCC Outdoor Leadership Program staff.
Symposium Highlights Include:
Wilderness First Responder Re-Certification Opportunity (pre-symposium event)
ACA Level 2 Coastal Kayaking Instructor Certification Workshop (IDW+ICE)
ACA Coastal Kayaking Skills Courses Each Day.
Guided Day Trips AND a guided overnight kayak trip in Prince William Sound to Shoup Bay and Glacier.
Equipment rentals and opportunities to demo kayaks and new gear.
Evening Speakers, presentations, and daily indoor kayaking skills practice sessions in the heated community pool!
This symposium offers a unique package including the option for meals, cheap lodging on campus, and the opportunity to travel to Valdez on the Alaska Marine Highway System.
All lodging and equipment rental is FCFS and limited so register early to secure dorm space or equipment.
The ferry ride across Prince William Sound alone will be worth the visit! Return transportation options include flying, carpooling, or shuttles back to Anchorage.
There will be attendees coming from Anchorage, Whittier, and Seward Alaska to coordinate transportation with.
