Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Capitol Museum Tour and Demonstrations

Join us on a field trip to the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Capitol Museum for a tour and demonstrations. There is no cost for this field trip for Virtue Grove Academy Families. The Museum features displays on Choctaw history before European contact, the Trail of Tears and Death, Choctaw life in Oklahoma, Choctaw Lighthorsemen, Choctaw Code Talkers, Choctaw basketry, and has a gift shop selling Choctaw-made artwork, and much more. We will also explore Chukka's, which are the traditional houses that Choctaw Indian's lived in. This is also the first day of the Choctaw Nation Labor Day Festival featuring a Pow Wow, Art and Craft Show, and Carnival. This event is free to the public. Families are welcome to stay and explore after the field trip.
