Kuvataiteilija Adele Hyryn (s. 1994) yksityisnäyttely Mood Ring – Intro tutkii tavaran, tyttöyden ja utopian ristiriitaa.
Valokuvalähtöinen installaatio pohjaa taiteilijan varhaisnuoruuden tunnemuistoihin kiehtovista esineistä, kuten väriään vaihtavasta mielialasormuksesta aikana ennen älypuhelimia.
Pop-taiteeseen viittaavat värit, tyttöyttä symboloivat arjen esineet sekä taiteilijaa kiehtovat materiaalit, kuten sokerimassa ja saippua sulautuvat yhteen valokuvien kanssa.
Nykypäivän digitaalisen kulttuurin dominoimat vaikutteet käyvät vuoropuhelua analogisen valokuvan perinteen ja kokeilevan installaatiotaiteen kanssa. Valokuvat ovat taiteilijan itse pimiössä vedostamia värikuvia ja digitaalisia pigmenttivedoksia.
Taiteilija palaa muistikuviinsa tyttöyden utopiasta. Hyry on omaksunut lapsuuden popkulttuurivaikutteet tavaroiden, vaatteiden, kirjojen ja luokkatovereiden kertomusten kautta, koska hänen uskonnollisessa lapsuudenkodissaan ei katsottu televisiota, käyty elokuvissa, eikä kuunneltu kevyttä musiikkia.
Vuonna 2023 alkaneen Mood Ring -teossarjan Intro esitetään nyt ensimmäistä kertaa omana näyttelynään B-gallerian Päätilassa 5.–29.6.2025.
Viimeksi osa sarjasta esitettiin Islannissa Gerðarsafn Kópavogur -museossa 2025.

Visual artist Adele Hyry's (b. 1994) solo exhibition Mood Ring - Intro explores the contradictions between material objects, girlhood, and utopia.
The photo-based installation draws on the artist's early adolescent emotional memories of fascinating items, such as a color-changing mood ring in the pre-smartphone era.
Pop art-inspired colors, everyday objects that symbolize girliness, and materials that fascinate the artist, such as sugar paste and soap, blend with the photographs.
Influences dominated by today's digital culture are in dialogue with the tradition of analog photography and experimental installation art. The photographs are color darkroom prints and digital pigment prints made by the artist.
The artist returns to their memories of a girl utopia. Hyry absorbed the pop culture influences of their childhood through objects, clothes, books, and classmates' stories because, in their religious childhood home, there was no watching TV, going to the cinema, or listening to popular music.
The Intro to the Mood Ring series, which began in 2023, will now be presented for the first time as a solo exhibition at B Gallery from the 5th to the 29th of June 2025.
Most recently, part of the series was shown in Iceland at the Gerðarsafn Kópavogur Museum in 2025.
