Bronze Age is a saison that takes its inspiration from the 2009-2012 era of American brewing. The coolest breweries of the time were focused mainly on saison production, and dry hopping saisons had become vogue. Any given beer bar had multiple drafts of these interesting beers that had Belgian underpinnings, but were also brimming with interesting aromas from new hops hitting the market. It was a special time, and we wanted to make something that reminded us of that brief moment in American beer history.

Bronze Age is brewed with wheat and hopped with Mittelfrüh on the hot side. It was then fermented with a collection of yeasts from some of our favorite Belgian breweries, and during the fermentation, it was dry hopped exclusively with Krush. Can and keg conditioned, because it’s saison.

This label was inspired by our favorite bronze bass, the Smallmouth Bass. It lurks in the shadows and pools of our prettiest Oklahoma rivers and streams, and has some of the most intriguing and effective camouflaging patterns in all of fish. It was illustrated by the incredible, Jessica Roux, and was originally produced for a collaboration beer called Fisherman’s Mild, which we brewed with our dear friends at Ivory Bill.
