Sun-Powered Oklahoma: What Utility-Scale Solar Really Means for Our Grid & Communities
Join Brian Webster and Josh Johnston of Sturgeon Energy to discuss the ins and outs of solar energy, and what it means for Oklahoma.
Brian and Josh founded Sturgeon Energy in May 2024 with a clear objective: Add one gigawatt of storage-backed solar energy to the grid. That is enough energy to power 200,000 homes, while avoiding 1 to 1.5 million tons of CO2 emissions per year.
Key Topics
- The lifecycle of a thousand acre solar project.
- Why do so many solar projects fail to reach construction?
- How do I know if my land is good for utility scale solar?
- Do we still need solar subsidies?
- How much solar is too much?
- Is Oklahoma allowed to export electricity?
- What are grid batteries? Are they necessary?
- What electricity policy keeps America the strongest for the next 50 years?
We look forward to a fun discussion, so bring all of your questions!
