Brief description of the event:
1- 12th century Saint Gilles citadel also known as Qalaat Sanjil. The citadel takes its name from Raymond de Saint-Gilles, a crusader commander who played a key role in its construction in 1103, with the purpose of controlling trade routes by blocking the city from the east. The Mamelukes destroyed the castle aroud 1289, and the Ottomans controlled it in the 16th century; it underwent extensive restoration at the beginning of the 19th centuryand the remains occupied by the Lebanese army nowadays due to its strategic importance.
2- After a guided tour in the citadel we will move on to explore the The Lions' Tower or Burj El Siba'a which is a small fortification located at the Eastern end of Tripoli's harbor. Named after relief decorations depicting lions that used to line the entrance, it is dated to the end of the 15th Century and attributed to the Mameluk Sultan Qaitbay. It was part of a series of coastal watch towers to prevent any future landings by the crusaders, following their defeat against the Mamluk armies.
3- Following that, Tripoli Railway Station located in El-Mina, the station began operating in 1911 and was connected to Homs via a single track. Later in 1945, it became linked to Beirut's Central Station at Mar Mikhael. It formed the terminus of the Orient Express Line in the twenties, thirties and forties of the last century.
In 1975, the station ceased to function and its buildings were severely damaged during the civil war (1975-1990).
It stands as a silent witness of a long bygone era.
4- We swift from Tripoli to Anfeh toward Anfeh salt pans is a must to visit because of there unique testimony about a traditional way of life in danger of disappearance. The remaining pans in function attest how salt can be harvested from the sea in an eco-friendly and sustainable way.
5- Before heading toward Beny beach, Nabu museum is an art museum located near Chekka, Northern Lebanon. Its collection primarily consists of Bronze and Iron Age artifacts, with items representing Mesopotamian, Phoenician, Roman, Greek, Byzantine, and contemporary Lebanese cultures. Apart available manuscripts and ethnographic material, the collections showcase local, regional, modern and contemporary art by Lebanese artists. The museum is named from the Mesopotamian God of knowledge and literacy, Nabu...
6- Last but not least we will chill, eat and relax in a place where the sky meets a crystal and turquoise sea. Beny beach is where you can free your mind away from traffic, where the good vibes flow and the stress goes, where u can enjoy delicious sea food and swimming in its turquoise water.
It is everyone favorite summer destination. Don't miss it!
