It’s a fun and unique chance to ask questions and learn straight from the experts.

Wed 9 July topic: Monitoring microplastics in our oceans.

Plastic pollution is a growing threat to our oceans, harming marine life through entanglement, ingestion, and health impacts. Over time, larger plastic waste breaks down into tiny pieces called microplastics, which are harder to see but just as harmful. With climate change increasing storms and floods, more plastic is making its way into the sea, including to Australia’s marine waters. Monitoring microplastics is key to understanding the full scale of the problem and guiding solutions.
In this talk, we will share how AIMS are working to improve the tools we use to track and tackle this invisible pollution.
