Last time we came here it was Winter so I am excited to return!
Beginner-friendly hikefit! Mostly flat paths and trails. This is a HIKEFIT workout which is a bit different from just hiking (HIKEFIT incorporates body-weight exercises for a full-body workout - no dumbbells needed). The fee to participate in this class is $20.
We will meet in front of the trail head entrance of Doris McCarthy Trail at 9 Ravine Drive. You can park along the side street for free on Ravine Drive/Bellehaven Crescent. If you're taking TTC, get off at Warden subway and take bus 102 to Kingston Rd and Ravine Dr.
This hike is an absolute treat. Known for the one-hundred-year-old shipwreck that has been there since severe storm conditions resulted in the steamer going under in 1915. Beautiful views of nature as we walk between Lake Ontario and the Scarborough Bluffs cliffs. We will take a short break at the Guild Inn Estate where we will visit the beautiful statues and architectural ruins. There are washrooms at the half way point. Our moderate hike will be approx 2.75-HRS/10KM plus full-body exercises along the way.
We will end at our starting spot. I will be leading the hike, and will also guide you through a warmup, cool down, and stretch at the end, along with exercises during the hike (for example, squats, lunges, v-sit holds).
