Makam Nights: Kareem El-Tyeb and Majd Sukar

Makam Nights is back on August 21st! Taking place at the Tranzac, this monthly gathering for the modal music community provides a space for learning and sharing.

This issue features Kareem El-Tyeb (percussion) and Majd Sukar (clarinet), a duo known for their dynamic improvisation and musical intuition. Kareem and Majd bring their Egyptian and Syrian roots to Makam Nights, using jazz and contemporary sensibilities in their practice.

We are looking forward to having Majd return to our residency, and welcoming Kareem! This will be an intimate gathering:
