Loved ones are warmly invited to the inaugural and annual jestival, a celebration of the people’s economist and the prince of Parkdale: jes sachse AKA squirrel of mystery AKA goldman sachse.
In true jes fashion, expect an abundant spread of fruit, red wine, momo’s, art, karaoke, free-flowing tears and deeply unserious laughter. Some of jes’s books will be available and are looking for new homes. This is a family-friendly, drop-in style celebration of life, rain or shine.
A virtual stream will be available for friends and family joining from afar via Twitch with automated open captions, as well as a chat room. An account needs to be made to participate in the chat, but no account is necessary for viewing. The link will made available here on the event page closer to the date: [ LINK TBD ]
Regardless of how you intend to join, Please RSVP VIA THE GOOGLE FORM so we can get a sense of numbers, accommodate people’s access needs, and inform the venue:

Food will be available to order at The Mezz. Please bring cash if you’d like to contribute. Feel free to bring fruit and snacks as well! They will appear and disappear throughout the day and are also cash supported and crowd sourced from community.
We invite people to bring a note, trinket, or found object from Parkdale to leave at jes’s shrine as a little gift basket from the neighbourhood to them in the afterlife.
Come as you are, with love, rage, joy, absurdity, and everything in between. Let’s hold it all and honour the whimsically passionate life and community of jes sachse.
Accessibility notes for The Mezz:
- There is one step at the front entrance.
- There are no wheelchair accessible washrooms on site. (We are working on securing a nearby accessible washroom and will update this soon.)
- The accessible entrance is via the back patio through the alley. - The ground is dirt and gravel. There is one step into the building from the patio.
- Masks are highly recommended and will be available.
With love,
