Our get-together for Winter Tales is on Wednesday 8th October at 7.30 at the Hippodrome. If you are hoping to be involved, please see the details below.
For the selection process-
Firstly, the piece - it can be anything you can tell well - children's book, description, poetry, excerpt from a longer book...... If you really cant think of anything, we have gathered a few ideas you can rifle through (We will bear in mind your shortened prep-time).
The piece you wish to share should link strongly to Winter and we are keen to present a range of materials from different eras and cultures.
Secondly, each full piece should last no more than ten minutes at the performance in December - for the get-together, please prepare about 5 minutes.
We will need a written copy of your piece for our decision process. This can be emailed to Justine.
Thirdly, you do not need to learn it, we are not looking for acting per se - but we do want to be hooked in.
Think books at bedtime, (Jackanory if you're old enough to remember that), audio-books. No costumes or props at this point at least...
For our cast, we're looking for performers who are great story-tellers, who have that little bit of magic in their delivery. The ideal ensemble would be 10-12 people, of any appearance, age (16+) or gender.
We're really looking forward to a lovely evening of storytelling, and to building something special for our audiences in December.
