We’re planning a Friday night, under the lights pick-up softball game for adults, co-ed, ages 16 and up.
All money raised will be donated to Color Me Cured/Breakthrough T1D. This means every dollar goes toward research to find a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Why this cause? Our middle child, our only boy, is the reason. He’s everything wonderful in life: funny, caring, and kind. He’s also approaching the second anniversary of his type 1 diabetes diagnosis. The past two years have been a whirlwind of counting carbs, advocating in the school system, learning new technology, and quite literally becoming his pancreas. He is the most resilient kid I have ever met. No child should have to be this resilient.
That’s why we do this… to raise money for research so that, hopefully, in his lifetime, there will be a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Here’s where you come in. Instead of hosting a tournament, we’re keeping it simple. Let’s come together on a Friday night under the lights. The cost is $15 per player. We’ll skip the complicated rules of leagues and tournaments.
Teams will be formed by drawing numbers. Men will swing wooden bats and women will use metal. Let’s bring softball back to its basics, have some fun, and raise money for an important cause.
Swing for a cure 🥎 Strike out T1D!
