In Search of ... Waterfalls!

Difficulty: Moderate
Highest Point: 4007 ft.
Lowest Point: 3505 ft.
Trail: Short, but challenging!

The trail leads to Falls Branch Falls where a small creek drops 90 feet over a nearly sheer cliff. Below the falls is a plunge pool which is great for cooling off in the summer.

Falls Branch Falls and the trail are located in the Citico Creek Wilderness. The spur that leaves the old road bed and descends to the falls is part of a pocket of old-growth that escaped the saws of the logging companies and the massive Citico Creek area fire of 1925.
