Let’s move with purpose, y’all!
Join us under the stars at Fannie Robinson Park Pavilion for Friday Night Steppin’, a joyful, soul-filled evening of line dancing, community love, and feel-good music — all in support of the Taylor Juneteenth Celebration.
We’ve got two chances for you to come out and catch the vibe:

What to expect:
Whether you know every count or it’s your first time on the dance floor, you’re welcome here. This ain’t about perfection — it’s about presence. About joy. About getting your whole body in sync with your spirit and your community.

We dance to honor the rhythm of our ancestors.
We dance to keep our stories alive.
We dance to celebrate Black joy, freedom, and togetherness.
And yes — we dance to raise funds for a powerful Juneteenth celebration right here in Taylor, TX.

We’ll be movin’ and groovin’ outside — so wear comfy shoes, bring your water bottle, and stretch before you arrive. The instructor is not a certified fitness professional — this class is all about having fun, not a structured workout. Please listen to your body and take breaks as needed.

The Taylor Juneteenth Committee is a citywide effort in partnership with the City of Taylor Parks and Recreation Department. Participating organizations include Dickey Museum & Multipurpose Center, Southside Community Engagement, Salvation Church, The First Baptist Church, and many wonderful community members dedicated to shaping the Taylor that they want to see.
