WRITING FOR CHILDREN

Author Leonie Agnew is a legend in the world of children’s literature in New Zealand. In her workshop on 17 August, Leonie will explore the different language and writing styles required when crafting picture books, middle-grade chapter books or young adult novels. Leonie will also share some of the secrets on how she produces amazing stories that capture the imagination of younger readers and literary judges. As well as being the 2013 University of Otago Children's Writer in Residence, six of Leonie’s books have won, or been a finalist for, every award in the picture book, middle grade and young adult categories in Aotearoa. Cost $15 (cash only please).
