Commemorate the Tampa Museum of Art’s fourth annual Juneteenth Cultural Celebration with an exciting day at the museum full of engaging activities for the whole community!
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 11 am to 4 pm, the Tampa Museum of Art offers FREE admission to its lineup of fun activities and programs in its Vinik Family Education Center, galleries, and terrace. Prepare for a lively community celebration of this holiday, also known as Freedom Day, with art-making activities, live music and performances, photobooth experience, gallery discussions, local vendors, and more!
Event Schedule:
11 am – 4 pm: Drop-In Art Activities
Create your own artwork inspired by our current exhibitions. All ages and skill levels welcome!
11am-4pm: Live DJ Set with DJ Spaceship
Keep the energy high with music by DJ Spaceship throughout the celebration!
11:30am-12pm: Gallery Tour
Join a guided walkthrough with an Educator, highlighting the works of Black and African American artists in our exhibitions.
12pm-12:15pm: Welcome remarks followed by a reading of the Emancipation Proclamation
1pm-2pm: Live Jazz & Blues Performance
Relax and groove to soulful live music on our beautiful outdoor terrace.
2pm-2:30pm: Curator-Led Tour with Gaby Azcuy
Explore Under the Spell of the Palm Tree and learn about the Afro-Cuban artists featured in the exhibition.
2:30pm-3:45pm: Drum Circle & Dance Workshop
Feel the rhythm in a collaborative drum circle, then move your body in a joyful, high-energy interactive dance led by Kuumba Dancers and Drummers.
