This will be my 4th year doing this
Booked the pioneer site for Friday and Saturday
25 people max according to website but should be fine.
5 cars max allowed at the campsite(this was not enforced last year).let’s plan to carpool if possible please.

So you can drop off your gear and park there.
We will be in line on Saturday 7am to get permit to slide the falls.
Hike up and down is above moderate to difficult. We will be crossing the river in some areas and walking through water.
Saturday evening we will have a community meal/cookout
I will share more details as we get closer.

Not guaranteed to get the permit if you are late.
They only give 100 permits a day.
I will use my camping pass so it should be free for us.
Just want to make sure that you know they do not allow dogs on the sliding rock trail.
You have to have proper footwear to obtain permit
No flip-flops or crocs
I have seen them enforce this policy.
So make sure you have hiking shoes when you stand in line for the permit.
Park opens at 8 and that’s when they start issuing passes.we will try to get in the line around 7-7:30.
Also not trying to scare you off but the hike to the falls is difficult rating on AllTrails
We will go on a slow to medium pace.
We can avoid water in majority of the spots but I would recommend to get water shoe or plan on taking shoes off to cross the water.
Don’t forget your life vest if you are not comfortable swimming.
inflatable tubes are not allowed.
