Bluegrass is a Washington-area tradition. In the 1940s Appalachian migrants to the region brought a plethora of great music and musicians, earning Washington-Baltimore the moniker “Bluegrass Capital of the World.”
In the spirit of that proud tradition, SMT is hosting a monthly jam for both experienced and beginner pickers and those who love them, hosted by Ira Gitlin and Mary Naden.
- BYO non-alcoholic beverages and food are allowed. Plenty of restaurants and bars are within 1-2 blocks of the school, and parking is available. We encourage patronizing Takoma Park’s lively food scene!
