Nukumea Stream at Roberta Cres Planting Day Plus learn about stream health!

Join Restore Hibiscus and Bays and Mountains to Sea for a community planting event at Nukumea Stream at Roberta Cres!

We’ll be planting native species to help strengthen the riparian edge of the Nukumea Stream. This planting will reduce runoff from the grassy reserve, improve water quality, and create healthier habitat for native freshwater fish.

It’s more than just planting — Mountains to Sea will have a fun and interactive display where you can learn about the stream’s health, test water quality, and see what lives in the stream (macroinvertebrates, anyone?). Freshwater ecologists will be on site to explain everything—great hands-on learning for all ages!

Come along, get involved, and find out what’s living in your local stream while helping care for it!

What to bring:
Gardening gloves, a clean spade if you have one, water, snacks, sturdy shoes or boots, and clothes suitable for the weather.
