Soulful Americana — it evokes images of back porch ballads, foot-stomping anthems and everything in between. It’s also the chosen genre of James Coates, a 15-year traveler of the Northwest’s sprawling music scene who’s spent a career struggling to define himself.
James didn’t choose music — after learning guitar from his father at ten, some would say it chose him. Influences came from everywhere, but the ones that stuck were legendary songwriters like Bob Dylan and Tom Petty as well as the unstoppable backbeat of Motown Records.
Combining threads of folk, rock, funk and R&B, the ambitious sonic tapestry is woven together by one singular element — a soulful voice with a hint of rasp singing for anyone who needs to hear a good song. Two albums, a nationwide tour and countless shows later, not only is Coates’s voice not slowing down, it’s getting louder and stronger.

The Oh Wells embody Northwest Americana highlighted with the band’s power pop and classic rock roots. Spinning up melody driven pop songs, relatable storytelling, and signature harmonies, The Oh Wells evoke a modern twist on classic American folk-rock from the 1960s and 70s.
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, singer-songwriters Brian Kerrigan and Ira Merrill formed The Oh Wells during the pandemic as they sent songs back and forth to each other over the internet. After adding drummer Steve Gale and bassist Jason Denney, they released the EP "Does The Sun Shine Vol. 1", which was included in the Top Power Pop Albums of 2024 on powerpopnews.com.

Ray Charles, Elton John, Madonna, Fiona Apple, and Honey Boo-Boo - Brittany Danielle has arrived to claim her spot in the pantheon of artistic heroes.
Brittany Danielle's uncompromising voice is instantly familiar: drawing inspiration from the pop/rock, soul, and funk of the 60s and 70s, with the fresh sensibility of aired-out laundry. She attacks tough themes with cutting lyricism and memorable beats, preserving complex feelings with authentic humor and poignant storytelling. Brittany Danielle's lyrics celebrate the deeply human moments of beauty and self-determination while staying vulnerable, uplifting, and purposeful.
A musician from the cradle, her relationship with music is existential. She worked through the trauma of her sheltered religious upbringing at the piano until she left that life to study music while finding her voice along the way. Brittany Danielle's first studio album Hindsight (2022) explored these challenges inemotional heavy hitters Fondly, Hindsight, and Ruin.
Her second full-length album Drive (fall 2024) includes single releases What Did You Think (Would Happen), Drive, You Were Meant, and Runaway.
Drive is a road trip through pain, love, sexual awakening, loss, and triumph. With each track you'reinvited to explore emotions familiar, foreign, and healing.
The first single on Drive, What Did You Think (Would Happen), sets a newly empowered tone and addresses those friends who keep asking for advice about the same issue until you're out of ideas (and patience).
Drive was produced by Alex Keil of the Cory Wong band and features performances by Nashville fixtures Jon Krietz (Lake & Lyndale), Kevin Gastonguay, Adam McPhail, and Peter Janjic.
