Quantum Martial Arts' Empowerment Self Defense workshop series (once a week on Tuesdays) will cover from the very basics through to more advanced techniques from the ground. This series also includes an introduction to anti-oppression theory.
All classes will be 5:30pm - 7:30 pm.
Classes will be held at Quantum Martial Arts Tacoma dojo at 445 Tacoma Ave S. Tacoma WA 98402.
Day 1 - Tuesday, 7/08/25 - 101 Basics
Learn how to expand your awareness, use your voice, stand in defensive stances, use low level self defense, and execute basic physical techniques in combination.
Day 2 - Tuesday 7/15/25 - 201 Defense from the Ground
(must have taken 101) Learn social justice agent/target theory, intermediate self defense techniques such as kicking and arm escapes, falling basics & defenses from the ground. Learn how to get up of the ground safely and use your voice to help you defend yourself.
Day 3 - Tuesday 7/22/25- 301 Escape from the Ground
(201 required. recommend taking 201 and 301 in the same series) Learn and practice anti-oppression skills and be introduced to ground fighting defenses & on good escape from the ground.
Self defense can bring up uncomfortable emotions from past experiences and put you in close contact with others in the class. We encourage everyone to engage at their own desired level.
