Göteborg Obokvartett (GOQ) frumframførir Føroya Ljóð (The Sound of The Faroe Islands).
Göteborg Obokvartett varð stovnað í Göteborg í Svøríki í 2020, og er vorðin viðurkend sum einasta fasta obokvartett í Norðurlondum, kend fyri sína serstøku blanding av ljóðførum og nýskapandi konsertskráum.
Á skránni til hesa konsertina verður tónleikur eftir føroysk tónaskøld. Hetta gevur kvartettini stóran møguleika at fara í dýpdina á føroyskari mentan og náttúru. Í norðurlendsku kompositiónssiðvenjuni er vanligt, at hvørt land leggur størstan dent á síni egnu tjóðartónaskøld. Í sínum arbeiði strembar GOQ eftir at deila tónleikaríkidømið í hvørjum norðurlandi við grannarnar.
Í 2025 geva tey út fyrstu fløguútgávu sína “Fred i Vår Tid”, ið er teirra fyrsta verkætlan at fáa nýggj norðurlendsk tónleikaverk fyri obokvartett til vega. Við “The Sound of the Faroe Islands” fara tey at víðka kunnleikan um føroyskan tónleik og fara í framtíðini at hava Føroyar við sær á konsertferðum í restini av Norðurlondum.

Göteborg Oboe Quartet (GOQ) premieres The Sound of the Faroe Islands.
The Göteborg Oboe Quartet was founded in 2020 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The ensemble has quickly established itself as the only permanent oboe quartet in the Nordic region and is particularly known for its unique instrumentation and innovative approach to repertoire.
This program focuses exclusively on Faroese composers and offers the quartet a chance to deeply engage with Faroese culture and nature. In the Nordic tradition, countries often highlight only their own composers. One of GOQ’s goals is to share the richness of all Nordic composers across national borders.
In 2025, the ensemble will release its debut album Fred i vår tid ("Peace in Our Time"). This marks GOQ’s first project featuring newly written Nordic music composed specifically for oboe quartet. With The Sound of the Faroe Islands, the quartet deepens its knowledge of Faroese music – and hopes to bring the Faroe Islands along on tour throughout the rest of the Nordic region.
