This is a walk of approximately 11.5 miles, that climbs above the the ridge of the North Downs, starting from Hollingbourne Station.
Most of the ascent on this one is tackled in the early stages of the walk, as we make progress uphill to Chitts Wood, via a detour to the Shepherds Viewpoint above the North Downs Way, on the southern edge of the Hucking Estate.
After a brief stop to admire the view we continue towards Colyers Went & Wormshill, before turning in a southerly direction to find the Ringlestone Inn, where a pit stop for drinks will take place. This is a delightful pub, that we have used many times, hopefully the weather will be drier than when we last dropped by, in the rain earlier this year in February.
After the drinks interlude, we then descend to join the North Downs Way, which is our companion back to Hollingbourne for the completion of this delightful summer hike.
As ever there will be the usual short picnic lunch break, as well as drinks stop at Ringlestone.
Dogs welcome, but please keep on short lead when required.
