Rolling into August, and things are starting to heat up. Just like in July, the new month welcomes in some fresh faces, both in the booth and the bookings.
Cassette is one of our nearest and dearest, and one of the longest-running DJs still strutting her stuff in the Sydney and wider Oceanic scene. She’s been put in charge of the local programming for the 5 weeks of August and will also be donning her Sunday best, swinging on in to host each week for S.A.S.H By Night at Carousel.
Her first week in the spreadsheets sees Lili Joy in the bold print. Recently returned from her adventures overseas, and simultaneously lining up with her birthday, she sits comfortably atop the bill for this first Sunday in August. Joy by name, joy by nature, Lili knows how to throw down a groove or two, it’s nothing but smiles on the dial when she steps into the booth.
Sandwiched in good company, she’s breaded on either side by Cassette, taking charge of the warmer flavours and early hours of the night; with Jimmy Galvin & Alex Dowsing looming large & loud for the late-night session. Rounding out the lineup, Jett Heilig is our competition winner for the week, tasked with setting the tone from 9pm, with the down-lo, go-slow, deeper, house grooves.
As always, our focus for homegrown talent is a must, and with S.A.S.H’s goal to expand our community, the opening slot is on offer to a fresh new face to saddle up on the horse. Announced weekly, an eager jockey will take control of the club to kick things into gear for the evening.
