🎭 Two Nights of performance — Because One Night Couldn’t Hold It All
🗓️ June 25 & 26 at The Whirlybird | 🎟️ whirlybird.live
NOTE: The advance tickets are for both nights - one advance ticket gets you in both nights for $20 - otherwise $20 at the door each night.
This ain’t quite what you would call an opera… and it sure ain’t just a story.
It’s a Folk Opera of Grease, Ghosts & Gumbo — served hot, told live, and seasoned in the cast iron of human experience. Oh, there ain't no sing'n - yet, anyway. So far, it's just amazing live music performed by some of SWLA's best musicians and at the same time as the live storytelling by some of SWLA's best storytellers.
Pop Squally, the blind Creole cook and philosopher of the firelight, and a cast of characters will take the stage with live hand-played music and tales that might just heal a thing or two.
Featuring live music by Chas Justus, Trey Boudreaux, and Tim McFatter, and storytelling by Christy Leichty, Jim Phillips, and special guests TBA.
One night ain’t enough. These stories echo. They ripple.
So come both nights, and leave with something that sticks to the bone. The advance tickets here are for both nights, so get your ticket - be sure to get the whole story. Or pay at the door each night - money always goes to the artists at The Whirlybird.
Doors open at 6 pm - cash bar and food
Show starts at 7 pm
🎶 Live Tales + Hand-played Music, Seasoned on the Spot
🍻 Full bar and delicious food, sacred objects, maybe a little grease poppin’ from the spirits.
At The Whirlybird — Storytelling Capital of the South (even if you gotta go north to get here).
