National Mackem Day

11am-3pm:
We’re celebrating National Mackem Day all day at Sheepfolds Stables with fun-filled activities for children to help celebrate the heritage of our amazing city. We’ll also have school cake too – red and white style!

5pm-onwards:
As a tribute to our amazing city and its brilliant people, and in collaboration with Sunderland Music City, we’re delighted to bring you an evening of live music, spoken word and a craft fair with a variety of stalls as part of National Mackem Day. Hear the best local artists including The Lake Poets, Tom A Smith, This Little Bird, Patrick Gosling, Small Town Brass, Helen Milko of King Ink and Sunderland Symphony Orchestra (as well as many, many more) as they perform live at Sheepfolds Stables. Your host is Paul Swinney, author of The Mackem Cewkbewk.

Doors open at 5pm, music from 6pm.
