Get ready to journey under the sea as Playhouse Theatre Group presents Disney’s The Little Mermaid JR, a delightful musical adaptation of the beloved animated film, featuring 50 talented young performers from Central Wisconsin. Tickets are available now at PlayhousePresents.com!
Performances will take place July 30 - August 2 at SPASH Theater in Stevens Point.
Young mermaid Ariel dreams of becoming human and living on land, particularly after saving Prince Eric from a shipwreck. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, trading her voice for legs, in order to win Eric's love. Ariel must receive true love's kiss within three days, or she will belong to Ursula forever. With the help of her friends, Sebastian, Flounder, and Scuttle, she navigates the challenges of her new life on land and tries to win Eric's heart while battling Ursula's schemes
This family-friendly production features a cast of FIN-TASTIC area young actors in 5th through 9th grade, featuring memorable songs including “Part of Your World,” “Under the Sea,” and “Poor Unfortunate Souls.” The Little Mermaid JR is directed by Tori Schultz, with assistance from Annika Borgnes, Caedyn Dean, Johanna Rentfrow, Taylor Sypher and Odessa Turnquist. Schuyler Pietz is the show's Music Director. And, making a splash before each performance will be our Little Mermaid Children’s Choirs—featuring bubbly young performers from Kindergarten through 4th grade
Prior to each show, children will have the opportunity to meet Ariel, take photos, play games and make crafts at the Shellabration! This will take place in the SPASH South Commons; all guests must have a ticket to attend.
