Inspiration: a Festival of Art and Nature

After this long, cold winter, it is certainly time to celebrate, and what better way than the Sterling Nature Center’s Inspiration: A Festival of Art and Nature on Sunday, June 1st from 11:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the new interpretive center.
Once again, the festival will feature an abundance of good food, good music, and fantastic nature.
It is hard to imagine that it has been 25 years since then director, John Weeks, hit upon Inspiration as a way to celebrate Cayuga County’s newest nature center. Since then, rain or shine, Inspiration has brought some of the area’s best musicians, artists, and poets to the center on the first Sunday of June to rejoice in the connection between the arts and nature.
This year’s program is no exception. The Sterling Nature Center is pleased to announce a musical line-up of three of Central New York’s most talented singers, songwriters, and master musicians: Mark Wahl, Loren Barrigar, and Taylor Ricks. Wahl, whose recent CD “Circadia” displays his poignant vignettes and compelling melodies. Joining him is Barrigar, one of America’s finest guitarists, whose resume includes collaborations with Jimmy Atkins, BB King, and Tommy Emmanuel.
Once again, the day will include poetry, a fabulous children’s tent, a silent auction, and several local food trucks offering the best in BBQ and other local favorites.
