The Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) and Greenbelt Conservation Corps (GCC) will host a guided walk on the trails at LaTourette Park as part of National Trails Day in order to explore the trail and learn about our local ecosystem. Attendees will learn about sustainable trail building, management concerns and plant id. Following the hike, participants will partake in forest restoration by removing introduced species and promoting native vegetation. If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver.
All ages are welcome. Attendees under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Location: Greenbelt Nature Center (700 Rockland Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314)
Time: 10am - 1pm
What should you bring:
A water bottle
Weather appropriate clothing
Sturdy, closed toe shoes
Long pants and tall socks reccomended
