The Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia (SRIA) is Australia's leading non-profit organisation providing technical support to the Australian Building Industry. This technical presentation will be an informative session on all aspects of structural steel, from its fabrication to its use throughout the industry.
The presentation will cover reinforcing materials, processing and quality issues (both for supply and onsite handling), the importance of minimum reinforcement detailing, the updated Steel Reinforcement Detailing Handbook as a resource for Engineers, and some detailing issues relating to columns, walls, slabs and beams that SRIA have identified some industry practice concerns over. Ultimately, you will be informed of some issues that Engineers need to be aware of when designing, inspecting and certifying reinforced concrete projects.
