Tatakizome Workshop: The Art of Flower Pounding

This workshop is open to all ages 4+ you’ll discover the ancient Japanese technique of Tatakizome, or flower pounding.

Under the guidance of artist Yellow and Green, you’ll learn how to hammer plants to create stunning, natural patterns on watercolor paper.
Using a vibrant selection of flowers, leaves, and grasses, you’ll experiment with different colours and watch as the natural dyes transform into beautiful, delicate designs. This is a wonderful opportunity to get creative, explore the beauty of nature, and leave with your own unique creations.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home your very own handmade pieces, which can include a bookmark, greeting card, or a picture ready for framing. Come join the fun and let your creativity bloom!
Children must be supervised at all times. Please note that 1 ticket equals 1 participant in the workshop, unless you are there solely to assist your child.
*This class is typically £15 per person, but it is part of our “pay what you can” offering. We kindly ask for your honesty in contributing what you can afford, as it helps us continue to provide these classes. There is no judgment on the amount you choose to donate.
