Grey Owl (biopic, adventure, Hastings history)

A 1999 biopic directed by Richard Attenborough and starring Pierce Brosnan in the role of real-life Hastings schoolboy turned Native American "Grey Owl", Archibald Belaney (1888–1938), and Annie Galipeau as his wife Anahareo.

Grey Owl became a famous writer and campaigner against fox hunting, trapping and for the preservation of the wilderness. The screenplay was written by William Nicholson, a native of Lewes, who in the past attended the Kino-Teatr special screening of his latest film Hope Gap. William Nicholson is a playwright, and novelist who has been nominated twice for an Oscar (Shadowlands & Gladiator).
