Newfoundland Waltz night

The last Saturday in June, right before Memorial Day on July1st, we always do the Newfoundland Waltz ... A memorial from the country where my parents were born, the country of Newfoundland.

6pm Natalia from Ukraine teaches Bachata from the Dominican Republic
7pm Jim teaches Newfoundland Waltz for beginners
8pm Jim teaches Newfoundland Waltz for anyone that knows how to waltz already.

The Newfoundland Waltz, historically, is a combination of dances mixed together from the European settlers in Newfoundland of primairily Irish descent, with influences from down South where the fishermen would travel to sell their catch ... dance to the local music ... and then continue what they could remember from a night in port down south, but done to the music from home. So the Newfoundland waltz much like its population, is a mixture of cultures from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
