Literacy is the cornerstone of development and shapes the way we think and live in our society. Literacy is Ujima's gateway for building stronger networks of support for underserved families seeking community. Therefore, literacy is the ability to understand and navigate all types of literacies in the following domains: health, digital, financial, civic, numerical, media, and cultural. Ujima generates community support for family literacy nights, literacy summer camp, parental advocacy programming and stakeholder education and we are proud to contribute a small part to their journey.
We hope to further Prince’s legacy by honoring and advocating for an organization we hope would inspire him as much as he inspired us through his work with TheDreamCorps and #YesWeCode.
