Camp Cocktail 2: The 1980s and 90s

Camp Cocktail is back for summer 2025. You might not remember your 20s, but we do. Join us as we reintroduce you to the drinks of your youth, but with an elevated twist. In our second of three classes for the summer, we'll boogie into the 1980s and onto the vibrant 90s. It's a time that many aficionados consider a low point in cocktail history. Let's uncover all the fuss as we shake, stir, and sip our way through the drinks. Were these decades merely a continued decline of the once-celebrated craft of mixology, or were they the stuff of "Cocktails and Dreams?" (Cue the Beach Boys' Kokomo.) Let's discover this together in cocktail class!

Our cocktail classes are hands-on, featuring bartending stations for each pair of guests. You'll grab onto a shaker, mixing glass, and bar spoon while learning mixology techniques. We'll explain the importance of each method as we guide you through the steps. Our team arrives early to press fresh juices, make syrups from scratch, and prepare all the ingredients needed for class drinks.

It's going to be a joyride packed with history and colorful concoctions! Enjoy mixology lessons with Hogwash Whiskey Den's talented Simon Moorby and Erin Fasbender, and stories and history of the drinks from historian Renée Cebula of Raising the Bar.

The cost of our classes has been creeping up over the last 2 years, and we've tried to cut our margins so as not to have to increase ticket prices. But alas, tickets will be $85 beginning in June.
