Filipino Cultural Camp 2025 at Good Shepherd Parish

Celebrating Our Filipino Culture and Faith is a 3-day camp for children K-8 and high school students serving as "Ate/Kuya" (older sister/older brother) camp leaders. High school students earn service hours for their Confirmation Program and/or School Service requirements. Adults - including parents and grandparent, are welcome to volunteer to assist with supervision, as teacher assistants, with administration, health support, or food service. Volunteers will attend 2 to 3 training sessions depending on their roles in the camp. All adult volunteers will meet Diocesan Safe Environment standards and requirements.

Learning about back-story of Filipino culture and faith traditions, children experience crafts, songs, and foods related to the celebrations. The sessions include:

• Celebrating Christmas & Holy Week Traditions

• Celebrating of the beginnings of Christianity -- for Santo Nino Celebrations

• Celebrating Mama Mary and our Saints - Fiesta!

• Language and Customs

• Folk Music and Dance

The fee for the 3-day camp is $75/child which includes camp t-shirt, class materials, daily snacks and lunch. High School volunteers contribute to the cost of their t-shirt and meals -- $10. Adult volunteers contribute $20 to the cost of their t-shirt and meals. Donations from the community are welcome.
