Market Basket with D Handle

Learn to weave a beautiful, sturdy handwoven basket using reed along
with a 6x10 oak handle.
This basket has a solid base woven with a basic over/under technique. To
finish the base, you’ll learn how to twine with round reed. The sides of
the basket are where you’ll add your personal style by incorporating
different dyed reed colors using a start/stop weaving technique. The
basket is finished by adding a rim using a lashing weave.

Finished basket will be approximately 10” long x 6” wide x 11” tall
(including handle).

Costs: $65 which includes instruction and material fee. Material includes
reed (natural and dyed), 6x10 D handle, basket pattern and use of
instructor tools/supplies.

Skill level: no prior basket weaving experience needed. You will be working with sharp scissors, so ages 14+ are best. Good hand strength is needed as we will be pulling and holding with a tight grip throughout the basket weaving process. You will be working with water so wear
something comfortable that you won’t mind getting a little damp.
