Worldwide Knit in Public Day

Every year since 2005, knitters around the world have gathered in public places to show our knitting to the uninitiated, as well as those kindred spirits who may stop by to take a look.

The Yarn Maven will once again host this event, and we have a bonus!

This year, June 14 is also our downtown music and food festival, Smyrna at Night.

All the details:

We will be knitting outside the shop from 10am to 8pm.

Bring your project(s), beverage and a chair.

The Yarn Maven will provide cold water and some snacks.

Smyrna at Night starts at noon, so you will be able to roam around the downtown and enjoy a tasty lunch and/or dinner.

The shop will be open exclusively for participants in WWKIP Day and our regular customers. So, if you need to use a restroom or enjoy some air conditioning, you can come into the shop.

Parking: There will be parking at schools just outside the downtown area, and shuttles to bring you downtown. The shuttles are excellent and usually run every 15 minutes. We will update with the parking locations for you as soon as we hear back from the town.
