PRESENTER BIOS:
Wendy Dietrich – Accessibility Consultant/Volunteer and Mom
Wendy began her 30+-year nonprofit management career at trade and professional associations, representing a wide variety of industries including higher education, manufacturing, agriculture, and management consulting. In 1993, her daughter was born prematurely, resulting in Allison’s deafness and cerebral palsy. So, Wendy switched
her professional and personal focus to working with disability nonprofit organizations.
As an executive director, a board member, and a volunteer, she applied her education and experience to lead nonprofits that assist children and adults with special needs and their families. Highlights of this career chapter include directing a federally funded healthcare policy grant, establishing an adaptive recreational program, and advising state government on early childhood intervention services. After many years of big-city living out West, Wendy decided to return home to Lancaster in 2019 and began seeking opportunities to make a difference in the local community. Impressed by the Fulton Theatre’s commitment to making theater available for all, she offered to help with the organization’s accessibility programming.
Wendy is a graduate of Georgetown University (B.S. Foreign Service) and Santa Clara University (MBA). She completed additional graduate coursework at Tufts University (Developing Healthy Communities) and Michigan State University (Program Evaluation). She has two young adult children and lives in downtown Lancaster.
