Memorial Day 2025 - A Community Day of Honor and Rememberance

Sisters Veterans will salute the fallen from America’s wars in a traditional commemoration event at the Veterans Memorial at the Village Green City Park on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11 a.m.

The annual event is hosted by VFW Post 8138, American Legion Post 86 and Sisters Band of Brothers. It will feature guest speaker from Sisters, Colonel John Miller, USAF Retired as well as the laying of a wreath, an ROTC Honor Guard placing the flags, ceremonial flag folding, Honor Guard rifle salute, bagpipe music, the playing of “Taps,” and acknowledgment of Sisters veterans who have passed in the last year as well as a dedication for veterans buried at Camp Polk Cemetery.

We will serve up hamburgers after the ceremony and invite all community members to gather together at the barbecue shelter at Village Green. Donations Gratefully Accepted.
