Sioux City, IA -- A little story of my life!
When I left my Sioux City hometown, as my dad was transferred to Omaha as Chicago Northwest Railroad was bought out by Union Pacific. On my last night there I grabbed a 6 pack of beers (I was 18 or 19 ;) ), and my guitar and sat in the middle of band shell at Grandview Park. I sang my songs out to the night abyss, and felt this crazy energy that one day I would come back play on that stage. I felt hopeful, but also knew it was probably a false hope. Fast forward after our 2009 release of my bands album (Timelines & Tragedies - with many Sioux City references), we took the band shell stage for Saturday In Park the year Counting Crows played. It was a dream come true.
Well, guess what? Last year we released our 2nd album (Searching For The Cure For Loneliness) and we were invited to play the Abe Stage this year at Saturday in the Park! Look for Midwest Dilemma, I will be there... I am forever grateful for this crazy life journey. Much of my early influences were from Sioux City, so it's truly an honor to be back again this year!
Please stop out if you are around and say hello! It would mean so much to me!
Here is a video of us performing at the Joslyn Castle here in Omaha. Still pushing out music (from a guy that got kicked out of band class in middle school for goofing off a little to much)!
