Lindy Hop/Swing Dance is a partner dance from the 1930s/40s USA. It is danced to jazz swing music. In this trial class, you will learn the basic 8 count and 6 count footwork and some simple steps to introduce you to Lindy Hop/Swing dance.
We will use jazz music from the 30s and 40s to help you groove along.
No experience needed. We cater for absolute beginners.
This is a partnered dance and we would be delighted if you come with a partner. But you may also come by yourself. If there are too many ladies, we may balance out the partner ratios by requesting some of the ladies become leaders to help the class move along (otherwise the ladies will have to wait very long to dance)
We also do normally switch partners in class. If you do not feel comfortable to switch partners, please tell us at the beginning of class. We appreciate it.
