Sunday July 13 at 10am we have our next Family Bike Ride:
The Summer Soaker Bike Party is BACK!!!
The event is similar to our last few group rides and here are all details available for those who are new to our neighborhood, need reminder, or are unfamiliar with the event and wish to join us.
Where to meet: meet us at 10am by the blue tent at our North Four Corners Local park (211 Southwood Ave), our tent will be near the tennis courts which are closer to the Royalton Rd end of the park.
Before the ride: we will have complementary coffee, donuts from Woodmoor Bakery courtesy of the NFCAA.
Sligo Woods and South Four Corners neighbors the route should sound familiar, we ride right by you all, JOIN US!!!
The route: we start our 4 miles ride at around 10:30 with a warm-up loop around the park.
This is the route and turn by turn navigation:
We leave the park on Royalton Rd
Left on Dennis Ave
Right at Gilmoure Dr
Left at Dryden St
Right at Sligo Creek Parkway (Sligo Creek PKWY is closed to vehicles)
U turn on Sligo before reaching University Blvd
-Short break at Sligo Creek Park to regroup and to use porta potty.
Left at Dryden St
Right at Gilmoure Dr
Left at Dennis Ave
Right at Royalton
Left to re enter the park.
Time to hang and at 11:30 we play with soakers for an all out water battle at the park!
Important!! This is a fun bike ride event and we welcome and hope to see all kinds of bike configurations so riders of all ages can join: tandems, recumbents, trikes, e-bikes, bikes with tag-alongs, trailers, kid seats, little bikes, and big bikes, rollerblades and scooters. We ask that small kids still using balance bikes or training wheels stay and ride their bikes at the park. Small kids participating on the 4 mile ride should be accompanied by their respective adult (parent or guardian).
Our special guest for the 6/13 Family Bike Ride is Councilmember Natalí Fani- Gonzalez.
Our summer ride will be also escorted by MC Police Department and Park Police.
